1 Star Falls Apart !!!

1. Poorly made:

- Within 24 hours of use, the zipper broke (the part that you pull on came off from the zipper track). I hammered the loose part onto the zipper myself to fix it (it was quicker than returning it).

- Strap broke within about 3 weeks of use. The strap is attached by plastic hooks with a relatively thin wire clip securing the strap hook onto the bag handles (SEE THE PICTURES). The wire bent, came out of its holes and no longer secures the strap hook in place, leading to me dropping my laptop a few times, whenever the strap hook unhinges itself.

- The zipper handle broke again, leading to me loosing the part after about 4 weeks of use.

2. I personally do not like the fact that the main laptop compartment opens up completely, 180 degrees rather than from the top only. This was especially aggravating when the zipper broke and everything inside could fall out.

It’s what I expected. My laptop and the ac power pack fits inside the thin case. The case is about 18″ wide. I wish that the extra zipped pack would open up completely, but it works for me.

I have a HP dv7-1175nr and I was looking for a case for it. I saw this and did look nice for me. I bought it, and I love it. I’m a tall guy, so the case and the laptop fit with me. When a friend of mine, who has other 17″ laptop, saw my case, he ask me where to buy it. We’re really happy with our cases.

This case is for protecting the laptop. It will hold a few other items but is limited on space for large items such as books, etc. Has room for laptop items like charger, mouse, etc.

4 Stars Not exactly what I expected… okay for the price
The bag is just okay for the price but not exactly what you have on the picture…The amazon picture is alittle over stated… what you really get is like the customers picture…(less compactment). well it will do the job for me at least. Shipping speed was very good.

5 Stars Great item, super price.
When the case arrived, we were (and are) very pleased with the quality of the item. Since we don’t carry our computer around every day we were not interested in spending copious amounts of money on THE super case, just something to protect it and make it easy to carry. We had looked at some of the big box stores and the lower priced cases we saw quite frankly stunk. The least expensive thing we found at close out was $20 and I wouldn’t carry a magazine around in it much less an expensive piece of electronics. So this, at this price ($12.50) is a spectacular deal. It securely holds the computer (zipper and velcro) and everything else we need. It’s not the case one needs to haul around a computer and a bunch of text books but for small stuff and accessories it has proven to be ideal for our use. Very pleased to say the least.

4 Stars Rebuttal to Negative Reviews
Just got one of these as a gift, and would like to correct some of the negative comments made by reviewers, here.

From several reviewers: “The picture is not accurate”.

REBUTTAL: This complaint is out-of-date. The pictures have been fixed. What is shown in the pictures is what I got.

John “Thug Life” Lertsakultip writes, “Also, watch out for the handle. It’s not a padded handle but it’s like a weird hard plastic one. I don’t think it will be sturdy enough if you have to carry lots of things everyday in the bag and will mess up your hands after awhile.”

REBUTTAL: The carry handle is NOT plastic. It is some kind of soft, but very stiff rubberized material. It is resistant to any kind of bending. Mr. Lertsakultip must have some extremely soft sensitive hands, because I just don’t see how this handle would be uncomfortable to anyone. (He recommends the Sumdex E-Tech Messenger bag. Though I don’t have one, I have to agree that it DOES look like a nicer bag for a few more bucks. DO check it out.)

Bashar Alnarraie “bashar129″ writes: “The hook that the straps hook into is plastic, and the endpoints on the shoulder straps are also plastic….Plastic on Plastic = very bad. When I’m walking I hear *squeak squeak squeak squeak* It can be very annoying.”

REBUTTAL: Yes, the hooks are plastic, but they’re a very thick plastic. If his Targus is squeaking at the shoulder strap hooks, then he MUST have it WAY overloaded beyond the recommended weight limit. Even if the strap hooks somehow break in the future, this thing has a lifetime replacement warranty.

Veruca Salt writes: “I’m concerned long term use will lead to the handle failing and my laptop on the ground broken. I will be replacing this bag as soon as I can because I’d rather spend $70 on a bag than hundreds of dollars for a new computer.”

REBUTTAL: IF–and I say IF–the handle fails, you are going to see stress and wear LONG before it actually snaps. The handle material is very durable. There is NO way it is going to suddenly and “mysteriously” fail with no advance warning, first.

Quality product. Fits a 15.4″ laptop perfectly. I’m very happy and the price was great. I mean…this is all you really need.

4 Stars Great for my Lenovo G530 – and very sturdy construction
I got a great deal on a new Lenovo G530 with a 15.4″ screen and needed a new bag to go with it. Local stores were off the hook for pricing (a discount machine needs a discount bag). This Amazon purchase fits the bill. It has a sturdy feel and holds the laptop perrfectly. The width is perfect and the height has 2″ to spare. The handle is very comfortrably padded with a dense rubber grip and the strap is well built with a rubber shoulder pad. Features I liked:

- An outside magazine pocket for those plane trips

- A thick carrying handle

- A nice mouse sized pocket under the clip down flap

- Sturdy zippers

- Traditional messinger bag style

Down falls:

- It screams “steal me” at the airport (but if you like this style bag, what can you do?)

- 3 CD/DVD storage slots and no USB key drive slots.

4 Stars good product, it is what it is
This is a good netbook sleve that serves it function. Very well built and durable. I wish it had a small pouch or pocket for a USB, cord, headphone, etc… What I like is that this laptop sleve doesn’t add bulk to an already small netbook. I mean afterall, is that the point of having a netbook in the first place.

I brought this for my Dell Mini 9. Very good protection for my computer. Built very well but just a little big but serves the purpose.

5 Stars Perfect for Netbook
I got this sleeve for my 10 inch Lenovo netbook and it fits very well. It’s nice and snug and makes it easy to just throw my laptop into a bag without worrying about it.

4 Stars Does what it is supposed to
Computer Used: I bought this item for my HP Mini 1000 10.2″ screen netbook. This computer is very compact for a 10″ mini so take that into consideration when reading this review.

Fit: When you first see it, it looks as if it’s not going to fit because it’s so small, but to my surprise, it fit just right. There isn’t any distance between the edge of the netbook and the zipper when closed end there is no play inside… it stays snug. This is probably due to the shape of the sleeve, a feature dedicated to that purpose according to their website. A friend of mine tried it on her Dell Mini 9 and liked it. She decided to get one also.

Protection: The main reason I decided to buy this item was because I had stopped by a computer store beforehand where they had this same sleeve but for laptops 13″ and up… I felt the protective cushion and was impressed. In terms of thickness, it felt far superior to any other sleeve I had tried. Unfortunately, the thickness on this version (10″) doesn’t seem to be as substantial as the one I saw in the store (it could be just me). That was a letdown, which is why I took away a star in this review.

Price: The Amazon price, including their shipping, makes it the best place to buy this item… better than the Built NY website or any other place for that matter.

Conclusion: For now it seems to work fine. It obviously protects against scratches and, as far as sleeves go, does a good job of cushioning the computer when inside a bag or whatever you carry it in. For serious protection, you would have to look into a carrying case with that shock absorbing air cushion. The carrying cases with the memory foam seem to be a bit cushier as well. All in all, probably one of the best sleeves out there. My only concern is that the website mentions that the sleeve will stretch to fit any sized netbook within the range it was designed for. I hope this doesn’t mean that it will gradually stretch and become loose.

4 Stars Still undecided about this bag
I bought this bag for my Samsung NC10 notebook. The notebook fits perfectly in the bag without the Samsung sleeve. However, it’s a little bit of a tight fit with the sleeve on. I like that there is a zipper on this bag. From the description of the product, it wasn’t very clear if the bag actually had a zipper. It’s a straight zipper that’s hidden down below the handles. One thing I’m concerned about is the weight of the netbook relative to using the cutout handles, which are very stretchy. I haven’t used the bag much, but it seems like the handles could possibly rip if it’s primarily carried that way. My netbook weighs about 2.8 pounds, but that doesn’t include the battery pack. Fortunately, there is a shoulder strap that seems a little more secure. However, the fasteners for the strap are small plastic rings, and the clips attached to the strap are also plastic. I don’t know how these plastic parts will hold up in the long run, but I guess I’ll find out. The material itself is thinner than I anticipated. I’m not sure if it will adequately protect my netbook from bumps and dings, but it’s not like I’m going to be swinging my bag around. Overall, the bag is really cute and certainly eye-catching. It definitely has orange overtones (the inside is solid orange) and purple undertones, so if you aren’t entirely crazy about those two colors, you might want to pass on this bag. I haven’t tried putting the battery charger in the bag with the netbook, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a noticeable bulge. But other than that, it’s a unique and colorful little bag that I would purchase again.

5 Stars Well designed laptop case
This product is designed for a 13.3″ Macbook, but I selected it because I have both a 13.3″ MacBook and a Sony Vaio laptop (SR series) and thought it might work for both of them. Turns out it did. The Sony fits perfectly (12.4″ width)!

I carry my laptop around quite a bit and I find that this case provides a good protection – good thickness but doesn’t take too much space in the bag. I have actually been shopping for a case for quite a while but found the price point often too high and the material too flimsy – not with this case. The price point of $24.99 seems reasonable. Also, the color selection offered is great as well – I received the Moka one, and really like the design, look and feel.

The item arrived in a ziploc-like bag, sealed, and with a little color swap on the outside so if you were buying this in a brick and mortar store, it would help you see the true color and texture.

Overall, I’d recommend this case to anyone looking for some protection for their 12 or 13 inch laptop.

I have early 2008 blackbook and this sleeve is snug and perfect for travel. Zipper is well designed and protects from scratches when closed/opened. Foam is stiff and protects frame well.

This fits my macbook pretty well and I use it in combination with my bag most of the time. The memory foam in this thing is so cool! Shows my handprints after carrying it for a few mins.

One tiny thing, I feel like the sleeve is *slightly* too large for the macbook… really just in the thickness or depth. Length and width are perfect.

this notebook cover is very solid on the outside, and the memory foam is great. it comes in a great package as well.

i love that my macbook is protected from the zipper of the case, since most sleeves fail to do this! (or at leats the one’s i’ve seen!)

the brown is pretty, but there’s two other stripes variations, if you’re interested. one is a black/grey stripe, and the other is a multi colored striped with mostly pink and blue in it.

you’ll enjoy this case!
